This Week's Free Lab Radio - So You Want a Revolution?

Sound Art Dance Music Radio presented by Fari Bradley.

This week on Free Lab Radio an interview with a co-curator of You Say You Want a Revolution? Records and Rebels 1966-1970 currently at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.

Geoffrey Marsh discusses the LSD, album art, pacifism and anti-racism that characterises the era that brought in credit, the decriminalization of homosexuality and abortion, and a general civilising of mainstream society (the birth of feminism, an awareness of environmental concerns).

Artifacts on display range from the hand writing of George Harrison and William Blake to a piece of moon rock and a space suit. Also many albums from John Peel's collection feature with Jimi Hendrix's guitar remnants (after smashing), the exhibition captures the rage, power and utopianism that made the 60s one of the West's most creative and turbulent eras.
